At TatarMosaics, we explore Islamic and Turkic artistic elements through various applications and mediums. We research, share and promote a unique art of the Tatars, Kaiyly Kün, that in English can be labelled as Tatar Leather Mosaic.

We are perpetually inspired by mosaic-like patterns of Kaiyly Kün and are guided by circularity principles. Structured and symbolic nature of Tatar ornamental designs have been fuelled through millennia by wisdom and beauty of Islamic geometry and Turkic appreciation of the natural forces. Traditionally, Kaiyly Kün patterns have been crafted with leather. Hand-stitched, intricatly decorated Tatar boots – shchiteqler – are world-known for their exceptional leather craftsmanship and complex unprecedented technology.
